Daniel Barbosa is the manager of the quality and analytics team at Florida Power & Light Company (FPL). He is responsible for leading the six sigma quality department strategy focusing on key organizational strategic initiatives by delivering business solutions via advanced big data analytics utilizing the smart grid. Previously, Mr. Barbosa served as a Six Sigma quality deployment leader where he was responsible for mentoring candidates and creating new algorithms to predict future single customer outages based on smart grid data. Daniel spent 15 years with the General Electric Company where he held many leadership positions, including technology program manager, service strategy manager, site leader and repair operations manager. Mr. Barbosa earned his Bachelor of Science in biomedical engineering from the University of Miami in 2001. He is a certified Six Sigma quality black belt and is currently working on his master black belt.
