Michael Putt is Director of Smart Grid and Innovation for Power Delivery at Florida Power & Light Company (FPL). He is responsible to leverage grid technology and artificial intelligence.
Mr. Putt joined FPL in 2000 and was recently General manager of design and standards for, transmission, substation, Battery Storage and Distributed generation facilities including generator interconnections for FPL and NextEra Energy Resources (NEER).
Prior to joining FPL, Mr. Putt worked as consultant and product engineer for over a decade developing designs and automation solutions for electric Utilities throughout North America.
Mr. Putt earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He is a Florida Licensed Professional Engineer and a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. Mr. Putt holds one patent and has published several industry papers for smart grid applications.
